Barangay Poblacion

Situated in Santo Niño, South Cotabato, Barangay Poblacion is one of 10 barangays that make up the municipality within SOCCSKSARGEN.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 10,688. This made it the 1st largest of 10 barangays in Santo Niño by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 26.86% of the total population of Santo Niño, which stood at 39,796 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 10,149 residents to 10,688 residents, an intercensal change of +5.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Poblacion is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Santo Niño is a municipality comprising 10 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
