Barangay Maligaya

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Maligaya is one of the administrative divisions of Science City of Muñoz in Nueva Ecija, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Maligaya had a population of 4,656. This made it the 2nd largest of 37 barangays in Science City of Muñoz by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the city. Residents of Barangay Maligaya accounted for approximately 5.52% of the total population of Science City of Muñoz, which stood at 84,308 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Maligaya moving from 4,643 residents to 4,656 residents, an intercensal change of +0.3%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Maligaya is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Science City of Muñoz is a city comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Maligaya, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
