Barangay Palusapis

Barangay Palusapis is a mid-sized barangay in the city of Science City of Muñoz, located in the province of Nueva Ecija, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Palusapis had a population of 2,987. This made it the 6th largest of 37 barangays in Science City of Muñoz by population, placing it in the upper half of the city. Residents of Barangay Palusapis accounted for approximately 3.54% of the total population of Science City of Muñoz, which stood at 84,308 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Palusapis moving from 2,777 residents to 2,987 residents, an intercensal change of +7.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Palusapis as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Science City of Muñoz is a city comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Palusapis, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Nueva Ecija, which contains 849 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Palusapis ranks 255th by 2020 population. Like every Philippine barangay, Barangay Palusapis is led by an elected Punong Barangay (barangay captain) supported by seven Sangguniang Barangay members (kagawads), an SK Chairperson, a Barangay Secretary, and a Barangay Treasurer. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
