Barangay Salag

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Salag is one of the administrative divisions of Siaton in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Salag had a population of 2,617. This made it the 14th largest of 26 barangays in Siaton by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Salag accounted for approximately 3.15% of the total population of Siaton, which stood at 83,082 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Salag moving from 2,819 residents to 2,617 residents, an intercensal change of -7.2%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Salag as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
