Barangay Maligaya

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Maligaya is one of the administrative divisions of Siay in Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Maligaya had a population of 903. This made it the 20th largest of 29 barangays in Siay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Maligaya accounted for approximately 2.22% of the total population of Siay, which stood at 40,585 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Maligaya moving from 1,337 residents to 903 residents, an intercensal change of -32.5%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Maligaya is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
