Barangay Mirangan

Barangay Mirangan is a small barangay in the municipality of Siay, located in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mirangan had a population of 1,559. This made it the 10th largest of 29 barangays in Siay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mirangan accounted for approximately 3.84% of the total population of Siay, which stood at 40,585 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Mirangan moving from 1,366 residents to 1,559 residents, an intercensal change of +14.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Mirangan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
