Barangay Catungan I

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Catungan I is one of the administrative divisions of Sibalom in Antique, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Catungan I had a population of 641. This made it the 41st largest of 76 barangays in Sibalom by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Catungan I accounted for approximately 1.00% of the total population of Sibalom, which stood at 63,833 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 614 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 641 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Catungan I is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sibalom is a municipality comprising 76 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Catungan I, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
