Barangay Egaña

Situated in Sibalom, Antique, Barangay Egaña is one of 76 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Egaña had a population of 3,147. This made it the 2nd largest of 76 barangays in Sibalom by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Egaña accounted for approximately 4.93% of the total population of Sibalom, which stood at 63,833 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Egaña changed from 3,333 to 3,147, a shift of -5.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Sibalom. Barangay Egaña is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sibalom is a municipality comprising 76 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Egaña, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
