Barangay Lacaron

Barangay Lacaron is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Sibalom, located in the province of Antique, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Lacaron had a population of 2,025. This made it the 5th largest of 76 barangays in Sibalom by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lacaron accounted for approximately 3.17% of the total population of Sibalom, which stood at 63,833 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Lacaron moving from 2,009 residents to 2,025 residents, an intercensal change of +0.8%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Lacaron as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sibalom is a municipality comprising 76 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lacaron, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
