Barangay Gaongan

Barangay Gaongan is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Sipocot, located in the province of Camarines Sur, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Gaongan had a population of 2,089. This made it the 7th largest of 46 barangays in Sipocot by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Gaongan accounted for approximately 3.06% of the total population of Sipocot, which stood at 68,169 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Gaongan moving from 1,926 residents to 2,089 residents, an intercensal change of +8.5%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Gaongan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
