Barangay South Centro (Pob.)

Barangay South Centro (Pob.) is a large barangay in the municipality of Sipocot, located in the province of Camarines Sur, in the Bicol Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay South Centro (Pob.) had a population of 6,567. This made it the 1st largest of 46 barangays in Sipocot by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay South Centro (Pob.) accounted for approximately 9.63% of the total population of Sipocot, which stood at 68,169 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay South Centro (Pob.) changed from 5,779 to 6,567, a shift of +13.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Sipocot. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay South Centro (Pob.) as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Sipocot is a municipality comprising 46 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay South Centro (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Camarines Sur, which contains 1,063 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay South Centro (Pob.) ranks 27th by 2020 population.
