Barangay Maliclico

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Maliclico is one of the administrative divisions of Sudipen in La Union, Ilocos Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Maliclico had a population of 847. This made it the 12th largest of 17 barangays in Sudipen by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Maliclico accounted for approximately 4.93% of the total population of Sudipen, which stood at 17,187 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Maliclico changed from 833 to 847, a shift of +1.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Sudipen. Barangay Maliclico is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sudipen is a municipality comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Maliclico, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of La Union, which contains 576 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Maliclico ranks 425th by 2020 population.
