Barangay Manikaan

Barangay Manikaan forms part of Tabina, a municipality in Zamboanga Del Sur, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Manikaan had a population of 996. This made it the 9th largest of 15 barangays in Tabina by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Manikaan accounted for approximately 3.87% of the total population of Tabina, which stood at 25,734 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 987 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 996 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +0.9%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. Barangay Manikaan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tabina is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Manikaan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
