Barangay Santa Ana

Barangay Santa Ana is a large barangay in the municipality of Tagoloan, located in the province of Misamis Oriental, in the Northern Mindanao region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Santa Ana had a population of 9,010. This made it the 6th largest of 10 barangays in Tagoloan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Ana accounted for approximately 11.22% of the total population of Tagoloan, which stood at 80,319 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 8,140 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 9,010 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Santa Ana as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Tagoloan is a municipality comprising 10 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santa Ana, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Misamis Oriental, which contains 504 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Santa Ana ranks 11th by 2020 population. Barangay Santa Ana is governed by an elected Sangguniang Barangay composed of a Punong Barangay and seven kagawads, with the Sangguniang Kabataan representing the youth. The next BSKE, set for Monday, November 2, 2026, will elect officials to four-year terms as provided under Republic Act No. 12232.
