Barangay Baluga

Situated in Talavera, Nueva Ecija, Barangay Baluga is one of 53 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Luzon.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Baluga had a population of 2,740. This made it the 16th largest of 53 barangays in Talavera by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Baluga accounted for approximately 2.07% of the total population of Talavera, which stood at 132,338 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,489 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,740 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Baluga is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Talavera is a municipality comprising 53 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Baluga, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
