Barangay Tuburan

Barangay Tuburan is a small barangay in the municipality of Talusan, located in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tuburan had a population of 1,828. This made it the 4th largest of 14 barangays in Talusan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tuburan accounted for approximately 6.56% of the total population of Talusan, which stood at 27,873 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Tuburan moving from 2,061 residents to 1,828 residents, an intercensal change of -11.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Tuburan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Talusan is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tuburan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
