Barangay Maghulod

Barangay Maghulod is a small barangay in the municipality of Tanauan, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Maghulod had a population of 533. This made it the 39th largest of 54 barangays in Tanauan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Maghulod accounted for approximately 0.93% of the total population of Tanauan, which stood at 57,455 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Maghulod moving from 471 residents to 533 residents, an intercensal change of +13.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Maghulod as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tanauan is a municipality comprising 54 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Maghulod, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
