Barangay Apero

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Apero is one of the administrative divisions of Tapaz in Capiz, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Apero had a population of 942. This made it the 25th largest of 58 barangays in Tapaz by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Apero accounted for approximately 1.73% of the total population of Tapaz, which stood at 54,423 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 864 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 942 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +9.0%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Apero is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tapaz is a municipality comprising 58 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Apero, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
