Barangay Tizon

Situated in Tarangnan, Samar, Barangay Tizon is one of 41 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tizon had a population of 454. This made it the 22nd largest of 41 barangays in Tarangnan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tizon accounted for approximately 1.77% of the total population of Tarangnan, which stood at 25,713 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 460 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 454 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.3%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Tizon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tarangnan is a municipality comprising 41 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tizon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Samar, which contains 951 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Tizon ranks 572nd by 2020 population.
