Barangay Mabayabas

Situated in Taysan, Batangas, Barangay Mabayabas is one of 20 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Mabayabas had a population of 2,417. This made it the 7th largest of 20 barangays in Taysan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mabayabas accounted for approximately 6.02% of the total population of Taysan, which stood at 40,146 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,264 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,417 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +6.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Mabayabas as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
