Barangay Lawigan

Barangay Lawigan is a very small barangay in the municipality of Tobias Fornier, located in the province of Antique, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lawigan had a population of 298. This made it the 42nd largest of 50 barangays in Tobias Fornier by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lawigan accounted for approximately 0.88% of the total population of Tobias Fornier, which stood at 33,816 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Lawigan moving from 275 residents to 298 residents, an intercensal change of +8.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Lawigan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
