Barangay Carmelo

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Carmelo is one of the administrative divisions of Tuburan in Cebu, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Carmelo had a population of 2,394. This made it the 7th largest of 54 barangays in Tuburan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Carmelo accounted for approximately 3.51% of the total population of Tuburan, which stood at 68,167 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Carmelo moving from 2,168 residents to 2,394 residents, an intercensal change of +10.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Carmelo as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Tuburan is a municipality comprising 54 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Carmelo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
