Barangay Montealegre

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Montealegre is one of the administrative divisions of Tuburan in Cebu, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Montealegre had a population of 1,775. This made it the 12th largest of 54 barangays in Tuburan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Montealegre accounted for approximately 2.60% of the total population of Tuburan, which stood at 68,167 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,664 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,775 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +6.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Montealegre is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
