Barangay Langon

Situated in Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay, Barangay Langon is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Zamboanga Peninsula.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Langon had a population of 2,009. This made it the 8th largest of 25 barangays in Tungawan by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Langon accounted for approximately 4.32% of the total population of Tungawan, which stood at 46,497 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Langon changed from 2,034 to 2,009, a shift of -1.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Tungawan. Barangay Langon is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tungawan is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Langon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Sibugay, which contains 389 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Langon ranks 98th by 2020 population. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
