Barangay Libertad (Pob.)

Barangay Libertad (Pob.) is a large barangay in the municipality of Tungawan, located in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, in the Zamboanga Peninsula region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Libertad (Pob.) had a population of 6,061. This made it the 1st largest of 25 barangays in Tungawan by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Libertad (Pob.) accounted for approximately 13.04% of the total population of Tungawan, which stood at 46,497 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Libertad (Pob.) changed from 5,213 to 6,061, a shift of +16.3% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Tungawan. Barangay Libertad (Pob.) is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Tungawan is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Libertad (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Sibugay, which contains 389 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Libertad (Pob.) ranks 9th by 2020 population.
