Barangay Buenavista

Situated in Ubay, Bohol, Barangay Buenavista is one of 44 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Buenavista had a population of 765. This made it the 39th largest of 44 barangays in Ubay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buenavista accounted for approximately 0.94% of the total population of Ubay, which stood at 81,799 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 709 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 765 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Buenavista as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Ubay is a municipality comprising 44 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Buenavista, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bohol, which contains 1,109 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Buenavista ranks 698th by 2020 population.
