Barangay Paloma

Situated in Valladolid, Negros Occidental, Barangay Paloma is one of 16 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Paloma had a population of 1,639. This made it the 11th largest of 16 barangays in Valladolid by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Paloma accounted for approximately 4.10% of the total population of Valladolid, which stood at 39,996 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,339 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,639 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +22.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Paloma is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Valladolid is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Paloma, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
