Barangay San Vicente

Barangay San Vicente is a very small barangay in the municipality of Villaba, located in the province of Leyte, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay San Vicente had a population of 347. This made it the 35th largest of 35 barangays in Villaba by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay San Vicente accounted for approximately 0.81% of the total population of Villaba, which stood at 42,859 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay San Vicente moving from 338 residents to 347 residents, an intercensal change of +2.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay San Vicente as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Villaba is a municipality comprising 35 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay San Vicente, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay San Vicente ranks 1326th by 2020 population.
