Barangay Tinghub

Situated in Villaba, Leyte, Barangay Tinghub is one of 35 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tinghub had a population of 720. This made it the 26th largest of 35 barangays in Villaba by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tinghub accounted for approximately 1.68% of the total population of Villaba, which stood at 42,859 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Tinghub changed from 673 to 720, a shift of +7.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Villaba. Barangay Tinghub is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Villaba is a municipality comprising 35 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tinghub, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Leyte, which contains 1,641 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Tinghub ranks 886th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
