Barangay Poblacion East

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Poblacion East is one of the administrative divisions of Alitagtag in Batangas, CALABARZON, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion East had a population of 1,456. This made it the 6th largest of 19 barangays in Alitagtag by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion East accounted for approximately 5.43% of the total population of Alitagtag, which stood at 26,819 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,322 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,456 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Poblacion East is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Alitagtag is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion East, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
