Barangay Toyokon

Barangay Toyokon is a small barangay in the municipality of Aloguinsan, located in the province of Cebu, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Toyokon had a population of 612. This made it the 15th largest of 15 barangays in Aloguinsan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Toyokon accounted for approximately 1.78% of the total population of Aloguinsan, which stood at 34,466 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Toyokon moving from 693 residents to 612 residents, an intercensal change of -11.7%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Toyokon as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Aloguinsan is a municipality comprising 15 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Toyokon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
