Barangay Masical

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Masical is one of the administrative divisions of Amulung in Cagayan, Cagayan Valley, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Masical had a population of 2,040. This made it the 5th largest of 47 barangays in Amulung by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Masical accounted for approximately 4.05% of the total population of Amulung, which stood at 50,336 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,722 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,040 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +18.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Masical is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Amulung is a municipality comprising 47 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Masical, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cagayan, which contains 820 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Masical ranks 185th by 2020 population.
