Barangay Mangangan I

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Mangangan I is one of the administrative divisions of Baco in Oriental Mindoro, MIMAROPA Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Mangangan I had a population of 2,689. This made it the 3rd largest of 27 barangays in Baco by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mangangan I accounted for approximately 6.75% of the total population of Baco, which stood at 39,817 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,498 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,689 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Mangangan I as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Baco is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mangangan I, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Oriental Mindoro, which contains 426 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Mangangan I ranks 112th by 2020 population.
