Barangay Bagu

Barangay Bagu is a small barangay in the municipality of Bakun, located in the province of Benguet, in the CAR region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bagu had a population of 758. This made it the 7th largest of 7 barangays in Bakun by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagu accounted for approximately 5.21% of the total population of Bakun, which stood at 14,535 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bagu moving from 820 residents to 758 residents, an intercensal change of -7.6%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Bagu is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bakun is a municipality comprising 7 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagu, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
