Barangay Poblacion

Situated in Bakun, Benguet, Barangay Poblacion is one of 7 barangays that make up the municipality within CAR.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 1,946. This made it the 4th largest of 7 barangays in Bakun by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 13.39% of the total population of Bakun, which stood at 14,535 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Poblacion changed from 1,894 to 1,946, a shift of +2.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Bakun. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bakun is a municipality comprising 7 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
