Barangay Polot

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Polot is one of the administrative divisions of Baleno in Masbate, Bicol Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Polot had a population of 498. This made it the 22nd largest of 24 barangays in Baleno by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Polot accounted for approximately 1.73% of the total population of Baleno, which stood at 28,855 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Polot changed from 446 to 498, a shift of +11.7% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Baleno. Barangay Polot is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Baleno is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Polot, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
