Barangay Sabang

Barangay Sabang is a large barangay in the municipality of Baliuag, located in the province of Bulacan, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Sabang had a population of 12,547. This made it the 3rd largest of 27 barangays in Baliuag by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Sabang accounted for approximately 7.45% of the total population of Baliuag, which stood at 168,470 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 11,350 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 12,547 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +10.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Sabang is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Baliuag is a municipality comprising 27 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Sabang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bulacan, which contains 569 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Sabang ranks 61st by 2020 population. Bulacan is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.

The barangay's legislative and executive affairs are handled by a Punong Barangay and the Sangguniang Barangay, elected nationwide during the Barangay and SK Elections. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
