Barangay Centro West (Pob.)

Barangay Centro West (Pob.) is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Ballesteros, located in the province of Cagayan, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Centro West (Pob.) had a population of 2,046. This made it the 5th largest of 19 barangays in Ballesteros by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Centro West (Pob.) accounted for approximately 5.93% of the total population of Ballesteros, which stood at 34,488 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,075 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,046 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.4%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Centro West (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Ballesteros is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Centro West (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cagayan, which contains 820 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Centro West (Pob.) ranks 182nd by 2020 population.
