Barangay Nagbalagan

Barangay Nagbalagan is a small barangay in the municipality of Bangui, located in the province of Ilocos Norte, in the Ilocos Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Nagbalagan had a population of 707. This made it the 9th largest of 14 barangays in Bangui by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Nagbalagan accounted for approximately 4.71% of the total population of Bangui, which stood at 15,019 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Nagbalagan moving from 701 residents to 707 residents, an intercensal change of +0.9%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. Barangay Nagbalagan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bangui is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Nagbalagan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
