Barangay Payac

Situated in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Barangay Payac is one of 14 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Payac had a population of 781. This made it the 7th largest of 14 barangays in Bangui by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Payac accounted for approximately 5.20% of the total population of Bangui, which stood at 15,019 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Payac moving from 758 residents to 781 residents, an intercensal change of +3.0%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Payac is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bangui is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Payac, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
