Barangay Mainit

Classified as a very small barangay, Barangay Mainit is one of the administrative divisions of Banton in Romblon, MIMAROPA Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Mainit had a population of 361. This made it the 5th largest of 17 barangays in Banton by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mainit accounted for approximately 6.29% of the total population of Banton, which stood at 5,737 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Mainit moving from 342 residents to 361 residents, an intercensal change of +5.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Mainit as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Banton is a municipality comprising 17 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mainit, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
