Barangay Concepcion

Barangay Concepcion is a small barangay in the municipality of Baras, located in the province of Rizal, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Concepcion had a population of 1,144. This made it the 10th largest of 10 barangays in Baras by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Concepcion accounted for approximately 1.31% of the total population of Baras, which stood at 87,637 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,293 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,144 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -11.5%, consistent with a contracting settlement. Barangay Concepcion is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Baras is a municipality comprising 10 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Concepcion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
