Barangay Embrangga-an

Situated in Barbaza, Antique, Barangay Embrangga-an is one of 39 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Embrangga-an had a population of 368. This made it the 21st largest of 39 barangays in Barbaza by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Embrangga-an accounted for approximately 1.58% of the total population of Barbaza, which stood at 23,359 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 341 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 368 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Embrangga-an as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Barbaza is a municipality comprising 39 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Embrangga-an, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
