Barangay Marigne

Barangay Marigne is a very small barangay in the municipality of Barbaza, located in the province of Antique, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Marigne had a population of 183. This made it the 31st largest of 39 barangays in Barbaza by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Marigne accounted for approximately 0.78% of the total population of Barbaza, which stood at 23,359 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Marigne changed from 203 to 183, a shift of -9.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Barbaza. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Marigne as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Barbaza is a municipality comprising 39 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Marigne, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
