Barangay Budbud

Situated in Barili, Cebu, Barangay Budbud is one of 42 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Budbud had a population of 1,846. This made it the 23rd largest of 42 barangays in Barili by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Budbud accounted for approximately 2.29% of the total population of Barili, which stood at 80,715 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,628 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,846 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +13.4%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Budbud is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Barili is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Budbud, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cebu, which contains 1,203 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Budbud ranks 575th by 2020 population.
