Barangay Balire

Barangay Balire forms part of Barugo, a municipality in Leyte, and is classified as a small barangay.

This made it the 26th largest of 37 barangays in Barugo by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. The barangay recorded 549 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 698 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +27.1%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Balire is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Barugo is a municipality comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Balire, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
