Barangay Bulod

Situated in Barugo, Leyte, Barangay Bulod is one of 37 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bulod had a population of 670. This made it the 27th largest of 37 barangays in Barugo by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bulod accounted for approximately 1.94% of the total population of Barugo, which stood at 34,497 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 631 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 670 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +6.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bulod as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Barugo is a municipality comprising 37 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bulod, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
