Barangay Calingcaguing

Situated in Barugo, Leyte, Barangay Calingcaguing is one of 37 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Calingcaguing had a population of 981. This made it the 14th largest of 37 barangays in Barugo by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Calingcaguing accounted for approximately 2.84% of the total population of Barugo, which stood at 34,497 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,296 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 981 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -24.3%, consistent with a contracting settlement.
