Barangay Binunga

Barangay Binunga is a small barangay in the municipality of Boac, located in the province of Marinduque, in the MIMAROPA Region region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Binunga had a population of 659. This made it the 35th largest of 61 barangays in Boac by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Binunga accounted for approximately 1.15% of the total population of Boac, which stood at 57,283 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Binunga moving from 711 residents to 659 residents, an intercensal change of -7.3%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Binunga is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Boac is a municipality comprising 61 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Binunga, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
