Barangay Cruz

Barangay Cruz is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Bongabon, located in the province of Nueva Ecija, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cruz had a population of 2,087. This made it the 17th largest of 28 barangays in Bongabon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cruz accounted for approximately 3.12% of the total population of Bongabon, which stood at 66,839 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cruz moving from 2,013 residents to 2,087 residents, an intercensal change of +3.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Cruz is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Bongabon is a municipality comprising 28 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cruz, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Nueva Ecija, which contains 849 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Cruz ranks 410th by 2020 population.
